artist from Spain. Hope you enjoy the interview! (Smile)
[ Special Thanks To Gabriel & Cristina ]

1. Briefly introduce yourself.
Gabriel Moreno, 35 years old, I specialized in drawing and
design in the Fine Arts Faculty of Seville.
2. What artists have influenced you and why?
I've always been attracted by expressionism. Egon Schiele and his way of
dealing with the lines, sensuality and the expressiveness of the hands......, having
half of his fluidity is my ambition. The American abstract expressionism, the
use of colors and lines of Robert Motherwell... Many times I play at taking
4 squared cm of a canvas, where a stain of color mixes with a group of lines
and wonder what it would look like in a bigger scale, but I guess I'm a
bit of a coward and that's what makes me be so figurative . And in illustration,
Berto Martinez, Hope Gangloff or Eva Solano are always a reference.
3. How do you handle the business side of being an artist?
Any illustrator , painter, musician... etc, if they want to develop their work,
live exclusively from it and achieve the best results, they have to have a
good profitability so they may take on all the projects they wish without
the obstacles that having other jobs to obtain financial security.
Therefore finding clients, keeping contact with agencies, galleries,
editorials, etc has to be constant and focused in a commercial way, but always
respecting the essence of the work.
4. Where is your favorite vacation city?
New York is my favorite city for vacations...it's like being all over the world
at the same time, and contrary to common perception, I find it very
welcoming...and it is New York!
