2010 SS . Alexander McQueen Shoes

Always wondering why people would design some shoes which are not
wearable. Not asking for 100% comfortable but at least wearable, right?
No one can deny McQueen's talent, he is a remarkable artist but not a
designer to me. These grotesque shoes are art pieces but models can barely
walk for 5 minutes in these. "Oh~ It's hurt! Arryaaaiiiiiii~"

i agree, definitely pieces of art but not wearable. they remind me of deformed feet that are a resultant of chines foot binding.

The reason Designers usually make clothing that isn't per-say "wearable" is because they have separate lines of clothes that they design for the everyday woman and seeing how less than 30% of most clothing that is shown on the runway is sold, why wouldn't you go for the art, the beauty, vision and concept of the story you are showing, through clothing. Besides, a lot of the dresses and jewelry were "wearable".
